The Plot Twist Before Christmas
Sutton Garland is a young professional in desperate need of a change. Grieving her recently deceased mother and feeling undervalued at work, she reluctantly agrees to take a solo business trip to evaluate a property in the mountains of North Carolina. With the Christmas holidays fast approaching, she anticipates a quiet, work-filled escape at the remote theme park known as Jingle Bell Junction. But what she finds is far from the winter wonderland she expected.
At first glance, Jingle Bell Junction is a picturesque, albeit strange, holiday-themed park run by the mysterious Blackwood family. Sutton is greeted by Elara, the family's commanding matriarch, and her rugged, secretive grandson, Zane. What should have been a simple property evaluation quickly devolves into something far more unusual. Elara insists Sutton enjoy her stay without rushing into business, and Zane seems determined to challenge her at every turn. As Sutton navigates the odd customs of the Blackwood family and the eerie yet enchanting community of Cascade Hollow, she feels both drawn to and unnerved by the place.
My writing doesn't live in just one lane, and neither do you. Whether you're craving something funny and heartwarming, spooky and satirical, or informative and educational, you'll find it here. I write the way I live, with curiosity, humor, and a healthy respect for both the cozy and the strange.
